Have You Heard Y.E.T? – Nov 2023

We’re warming up for the holiday season in this edition of Have You Heard Y.E.T?!

Welcome to the November edition of ‘Have you Heard Y.E.T?!’

This month’s article features some highlights from our October tours, including our first overnight tour on the Great Ocean Road. Our On Demand Concierge service is our our feature experience of the month and this month’s team member spotlight is on Kelly Krajnc.

What’s happening at Your Exclusive Tours?

October saw the start of the second quarter of the financial year and the countdown to the festive season. We have seen several enquiries come to fruition that we did not expect, however like Melbourne weather it’s feast or famine with minimal lead time.

It was exciting to operate our first 2 Day Great Ocean Road Private Tour with our lovely guests from Illinois in the United States. Their journey saw us depart Melbourne for Colac to have morning tea and then on to Port Campbell National Park to explore Gibson Steps, The 12 Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge, and London Bridge. By mid-afternoon the weather had closed in with rain and strong winds, so what else to do but head to the Timboon Distillery for a whiskey tasting and grazing board before returning to Port Campbell to check into our hotel.

The following day was a different story with the sun out and only a little cloud. We travelled in a reverse direction along the Great Ocean Road to Melbourne taking in Cape Otway Light Station, Melba Gully, lunch in Apollo Bay, a Koala sighting at Kennett River, Lorne foreshore, and Memorial Arch. It was a casual two days with lots of laughter and banter.

A corporate client from Singapore returned to Melbourne for their annual conference and our services were engaged again. We began with airport transfers down to Sorrento on the Mornington Peninsula, followed by a team building day of a long lunch and candle making before returning to Melbourne.

The candle making experience at Red Hill Candle Co was a real highlight, testing everyone’s smell, senses, and palette. Lots of different types of candles were made with some really interesting combinations and candle names. Your Exclusive Tours looks forward to hosting this corporate client again next year.

We’re stoked to have received the following 5 star review from Elwood Lester. To give you some context, Elwood made his booking in August 2021 during the height of pandemic and lockdowns, travelling in September 2022. We toured the Great Ocean Road and sent Elwood our ‘Thoughts and Experiences’ follow up. When our phone gave it’s customary ‘ding ding’ to announce a Google review had been left, we were thrilled to see it was Elwood, leaving his review 13 months later. It was very humbling to receive this feedback from him.

From ticking items off the bucket list, capturing those memorable moments, and exploring your destination in your own special way, we pride ourselves on creating that perfect experience every time. In recent times, some of our master card moments have been the smallest, simplest, and trivial in nature through to seeing and experiencing the destination itself. These include:

  • Buying a Melbourne Cricket Club Polo Shirt so our guest could complete their collection of polo shirts from all the major cricket grounds around the world. This was not only bragging rights, but Melbourne City Club polo shirts can only be purchased by MCC members.
  • Popping the question again to celebrate another 50 years of marriage together.
  • Celebrating a 60th birthday and friendships of between 15 to 45 years within the group.
  • Meeting and encountering Australian wildlife up close and in person.
  • Starting off as a guest and going home with a new friend or as family member with amazing memories.

Every tour has a special meaning to us and this why the Your Exclusive Tours team love what we do. We are constantly exploring new locations, forging new relationships with providers / suppliers, and searching for those elusive not-in-the-brochures experiences that we love to offer.

Team Member Spotlight – Kellly Krajnc

Each month we highlight a member of the YET team and let you get to know them a little better. This month our spotlight is on Kelly Krajnc.

  1. What is your role at Your Exclusive Tours?
    Chauffeur Guide, mainly for weddings.

  2. If you weren’t part of the Your Exclusive Tours team, what other job would you like to attempt?
Working for this team is something I do when I am not doing my dream job. I work for the Country Fire Authority (CFA) assisting in managing several Volunteer Fire Brigades where I get to meet a wide range of people who have wide range of knowledge and experience. Their passion for their work and the community makes it a great place to work. I really couldn’t see myself doing anything else.

  3. Tell us something about yourself that we don’t know
During the Fire Danger Period I also have another role with CFA as an Air Attack Supervisor. This job requires me to manage tactical bombing aircrafts over bushfires. As my helicopter hovers overhead, I direct these aircrafts to were to drop water in order to suppress the fire. I get to work with fixed wing aircraft as well as helicopters like ‘Elvis’.
This is one of the hardest jobs I have ever had to do. The cabin of the aircraft is very hot and can sometimes contain smoke from the fire, and turbulence is often felt during air operations which can make me feel quite unwell. I really do enjoy this job, regardless of the environment.

  4. What’s your favourite quote?
“Treat others how you would like to be treated”. Everyone is going through something and a little bit of kindness can go a long way. I live by this quote and use it in my work with Your Exclusive Tours by asking myself “What would Bride / wedding party / family / etc. need, want or require if this was my experience?”..
